Nature's Magical Ways!
"Rerig now, what's kama so interesting about those rocks over there? Or that building down the road?". These are some of the questions we'd ask each other back home when some tourists would go crazy and take pictures of every single thing. That has kind of always been the reaction towards how people would react when they came where we were and suddenly found the place mesmerizing.
I mean I didn't really travel around a lot either and I guess when you are in a place for so long you don't really appreciate it's beauty, unless if you a nature-freak or just obsessed with that specific type of thing to a point that you make time every single time.
Two days ago, aunt Iselin and I decided to go down for a walk to the Pasvik river to see how all the ice has melted since it has been very warm lately and spring has finally (sort of) kicked in. The last time I was there was in Easter and it was pretty much a lot of snow all over and still just well, you know, cold and that walking-on-ice magic type of thing.
The other day, the river was finally visible. It was strange to see all the snow gone because this was the river that was once all frozen and we walked on. I don't know, it was just so weird and really really magical. I literally lost my mind, plus it was around 9 in the evening and the golden horizon made the atmosphere even magical.
Before we got back, we stood by the river and watched the pieces of ice that were still by the shore. I know that ice melts when it's warm, what I saw there in that river did not prepare me for the brain-explosions that came afterwards. It was pure MAGIC. I mean it wasn't really magic at all because it's science that ice melts and and... but it was a magical experience for me to hold those ice carvings, all of them in different shapes and sizes and just feel how that non-living piece of naturally sculpted ice left me wowed.
I took a couple of pictures and so did aunt Iselin, I'll insert them right after this block. The point is, it was one of the best moments I've had in Norway, seeing the change from winter to spring. I can tell each morning that the trees are getting greener and the snow has crazy just melted away. Man, what movie am I in? There must be someone directing this somewhere, if not God. This is just amazing.
Soon it will be green and beautiful and the trees will breathe life all around (like they always do), don't come for me educated people, I'm just trying to write what I really feel and that's usually easier said then done. This was how the transformation of a river from ice to water, made my brain explode and left me so energized that I ended up cleaning and washing the kitchen at around 12am that night!
